Smoke alarms save lives. To help protect your household, working smoke alarms should be installed:

In every bedroom

Outside each separate sleeping area

On every level of the home
Who is eligible for assistance?
We offer limited assistance to senior citizens and individuals with mobility or physical limitations who do not have another resource available (such as a family member, friend, neighbor, handyman, or electrician).
We can help with:

Replacing batteries in AA or 9-volt smoke alarms

Installing standard, battery-only smoke alarms
We are unable to assist with:

Providing and installing hard-wired smoke alarms

Smoke alarms with sealed 10-year lithium-ion batteries
